Our Vision

22 02 2010

Vision is often defined as “a mental picture of a preferred future.”

At Christ Fellowship, our vision is:

To reflect the city of Tehachapi in an authentic and organic community of worshiping, learning, loving, sharing, praying, and going Christ followers.  (Acts 2:41-47)

Our vision is toward an expression of sincere and pure devotion to Christ (2 Cor. 11:3), freed of the baggage of institutionalized Christianity, which is often an distraction to the advancement of the Kingdom.

Toward Authentic Christianity, Pt. 3: Our Worship

9 02 2010

At Christ Fellowship, we believe that our worship must be authentic.  We believe this authenticity is achieved when we are God-glorifying, Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-filled, Bible-based, and where every believer is encouraged to use his or her giftedness to the glory of God and the edification of the fellowship.

In our effort toward authentic Christianity, we believe our worship will be characterized by spontaneity and  sincerity, as we express our Spirit-giftedness in our exaltation of Jesus Christ:

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.  (1 Cor. 14:26, TNIV)

Toward Authentic Christianity, Pt. 1: Our Foundation

9 02 2010

At Christ Fellowship, we believe our foundation is Jesus Christ himself.  We believe that Jesus called us into existence for to lead others into full maturity in him, for his glory.

But to fulfill this mission he has given us, we believe Jesus has founded us upon himself, because the church only has one foundation, Jesus Christ himself (1 Cor. 3:11).

Our foundation is Jesus Christ himself.
